Not All Strip Brushes Are Created Equal
Strip brushes are among the most versatile brush types in industrial manufacturing. They seal, guide, clean, and protect — often in applications where no other component works. This guide covers the three main mounting types and how to select the right one.
H-Profile Strip Brushes
H-profile (also called H-channel) strip brushes are the most common type. The aluminium or PVC channel has an H-shaped cross-section that slides into a matching slot on your equipment. This makes installation and replacement fast — no adhesives or fasteners required.
Best for: Door seals, conveyor edges, machine guarding, and applications requiring frequent brush changes.
Cup-Form Strip Brushes
Cup-form brushes have a curved or U-shaped profile, providing a larger contact area than H-profile. They create a more effective seal against irregular surfaces and are commonly used in industrial doors, cleanroom partitions, and acoustic enclosures.
Custom Channel Mounts
When standard profiles do not fit, Pamin manufactures custom aluminium, PVC, or stainless steel channels to your exact specifications. Custom channels can incorporate multiple bristle rows, angled mounting, or integrated fasteners.
Material Selection Quick Reference
- Nylon 6/12: Best all-rounder. Good abrasion resistance, temperature range -40°C to 120°C.
- PP (Polypropylene): Chemical resistant, does not absorb moisture. Best for wet environments.
- PET/PBT: Stiffer than nylon, excellent chemical resistance. Ideal for food-grade applications.
- Horsehair: Soft, natural bristle. For fine polishing and static-sensitive applications.
- Abrasive Filament: Nylon with silicon carbide or aluminium oxide. For deburring and heavy cleaning.
